Apples to Apples -- Poland Wins!

We leave Budapest this morning. On our last night here we had a special treat. Both Ron and Ryan(owners of the B&B) are involved with the University. Last night they hosted Fulbright night and we got to participate! They also had a surprise -- a cake to celebrate our birthdays. Melissa's was last month and mine is upcoming. We played a game called Apples to Apples - at first a little intimidating with Fulbright Scholars, but we soon were all laughing and have a great time. Melissa took an early lead since she's a game queen. But, much to her dismay Paulina from Poland(who has married a guy from Texas-he was at a bar down the street) took over the lead and won. The cake came out with the candles and it was great fun. We have to say it was the first "wish" we've ever made in Hungary. Talking with the Americans, a German, and Paulina from Poland was a great way to end our stay in Budapest. The other couple staying here - from Berlin - came home and we learned more about them as well, he works for the Berlin Opera and she works for the Green Party. Facinating hearing stories on everyones perspective on many topics. We have already learned so much on this journey. Today we head off on our first Servas experience. Zsolt, our host from Eger, the wine country a couple hours away said he was going to be in Budapest and is picking us up at noon. Very exciting! Stay tuned for stories from the wine country. Oh - Dawn and Tom -- we've tried Cab from Hungary. It's $2.50 per glass for the house wine here, and it was very good.
