Szia from Budapest
Szia (see-yah) means hello. We had a very nice day touring the city. We are now well rested and well fed. We have been riding the dilapadated public transit sytem, which is by the way, very efficient. First stop was the famous Gerbeaud coffeehouse, then a stroll down Vaci utca, kind of the rodeo drive of Budapest, and then a spot in the Great Market Hall where we picked up some paprika for Russell, the chef. (got you the hot kind chefy!) From there went across the Danube to Buda and up Castle Hill. Wow, was this something. Nice views of Pest, the Parliment, the Chain Bridge, and amazing history. Most of the buildings had many, many bullet holes from WWII and the 1956 Revolution. Today we are heading to the baths, a walk along the river, and then (thanks Karmen for the suggestion) to the Hungarian House of Wine!
